Tennis is a Ladies and Gentlemen's Sport
As a sport, tennis has a unique history dating back to 1874, when lawn tennis was first introduced as a sport for ladies and gentlemen. As such, certain rules and etiquette are expected to be observed when playing at a tennis club.

We kindly request that players change their shoes before coming onto the court, or at the very least, clean off any dirt or sand. Please wait until a point is over before walking through the court, and refrain from talking or making loud noises during a point, even if walking behind the curtains.

We expect all players to display courtesy towards their partner and opponents. Players are not allowed to throw or roll the ball back onto another court while points are in play, and must refrain from throwing or smashing their racquet. Finally, we request that players do not spit on the court at any time.
